5 to 9: Have You Been Outside Today?
Every week, I’ll share a roundup of things from around the internet to inform, educate or inspire–maybe even to have a little fun. Because those hours society tells us we’re “off",” MATTER.
There’s something about this season–the cooler temperatures, darker afternoons–that causes a certain doldrum to set in. Do you find yourself subject to seasonal affective disorder? This week’s tips are meant to energize us no matter what’s going on in the atmosphere.
First off, it’s okay to admit that you might be feeling some of the colder weather blues. Know the symptoms and acknowledge it! It’s okay. And this too shall pass!
Second, tackle it head on and with compassion for yourself! One of the key tips is to get yourself outside. Fresh air, no matter how frigid, and even the slightest bit of Vitamin D will help to fuel your body to get through the season.
Finally, what better way to power through a difficult season than by activities that naturally spark joy. No, I don’t mean organizing your closet (though, that works for me), but these 100 small acts that are joyful might inspire ways to promote happiness in just your every day routine. Making small talk with a stranger at Starbucks doesn’t seem THAT hard.
As always, be kind to yourself and approach the seasons with love and acceptance. They’re cyclical for a reason!
